Biography
Brian McCarthy has extensive experience and a proven track record in proactively applying effective change management strategies, tactics, tools and techniques in his work. He helps his clients understand the Managed Change™ process and assists them in identifying the source, type and degree of organizational resistance facing them as they implement their change initiatives.
As an experienced project manager, he quickly assesses a situation and formulates targeted solutions. He has thorough understanding of the organizational dynamics that are associated with major, cross-organizational changes. These project management skills enable him to align the Managed Change process and activities with other methodologies and disciplines (Project Management, Six Sigma, Risk Management, Lean Manufacturing, etc.).
Brian has insight into how large organizations operate and is thoughtful about identifying all of the target populations that are affected by major change. He helps his client produce both short and long range strategies that are comprehensive, realistic, and effective in meeting their objectives. He has worked effectively at all levels including senior executives, business operations, human resources, organizational development, plant management, line management, hourly workers, union representatives, sales, and marketing.
He is effective as a coach, mentor, consultant, change agent and change leader. These skills and his extensive experience managing change helps Brian incorporate Managed Change into his clients change initiatives and align the Managed Change action plans with their project implementation plans.

Background
Brian is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of practical business experience in the airline industry. He has been a part of many strategic change initiatives and he has worked effectively with stakeholders at all levels in an organization. Corporate executives, functional managers, operational employees, staff professionals, salaried and union employees have all been his clients.
As a leader in the Sales and Marketing group, the Airport Operations unit and Application Development (Information Systems Division) with a major global airline, he has participated in a wide variety of large-scale changes and continuous improvement initiatives. These initiatives include complex, enterprise-wide Human Resource projects (implementing 911 security procedures and enhancing their HR intranet portal), establishing an E-Commerce program, building their Call Center, Off-shoring, and other mission-critical, proprietary operations and process improvements.
As part of his role in these projects, Brian has collaborated with implementation teams and coached program managers in the concepts, tools, approaches and techniques of effective change management.
