Albert Vermeulen

Biography

Albert Vermeulen possesses 15 years of domestic and international change management experience. Albert has effectively leveraged his experience in the Healthcare Industry, specifically clinical transformations, to apply Managed Change™ to other industries.

He has provided guidance to senior executives and their staff in the areas of change management strategies, risk identification and mitigation, and commitment development. Albert enjoyed helping leaders and team members realize the intent and impact of their change initiatives which lead to successful implementations.

Albert played a key role in the transformation process in South Africa serving as a leader in two important government departments during that time (1991 - 1995). He facilitated many workshops developing a shared meaning and tolerance to accept political transformation by all the stakeholders. He has directed projects on behalf of the government and national corporations. Challenges included developing employee commitment, improving operational processes and implementing information technology.

Albert thrives on the success and utilization of the Managed Change methodology which provides a solid approach and structure to successful change. The rigor of Six Sigma and the positive elements embedded in a Managed Change approach strengthen his ability to guide successful change initiatives. Albert passionately and effectively shares his skills and knowledge through training, coaching and mentoring sponsors and change.

Background

Albert served for 18 years in the South African military where he gained professional experience in the field of change management and its application to organizational transformation.

He expanded his career through his work as a senior executive for the South African Government in the Department of Defense. He managed key client relationships, performed comprehensive risk assessments and developed and implemented emergency response plans for the state and local governments.

Albert also developed experience and expertise in clinical transformation in the healthcare industry. His most recent work focused on the introduction of electronic medical records, physician order entry and reduction of the variation in treatment to improve patient safety and quality of care. As a certified change practitioner, he successfully supported major projects for small and large health care organizations.
