Biography
An engaging public speaker, savvy project manager, and innovative corporate trainer, David Whitley unites his passion for Managed Change™ with an energetic facilitation style and a keen business sense. With expertise in Healthcare and Education consulting, he has an extensive understanding of effective Change Strategies and how organizations can build dynamic project plans to support and achieve their organizational strategy.
As a creative facilitator, David helps his clients introduce and align the Managed Change process into their implementation approach, improving their IT delivery, workflow processes, and responsiveness to resistance.
His broad background in project management has enabled him to:
- Provide consultative support to an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) deployment in a large academic hospital. During this engagement, David produced and published a qualitative study of the roll-out and how Change Management influenced the success of the implementation.
- Manage the training delivery (which included critical Change Management competencies) of an EMR implementation in a complex, urban, public hospital system.
- Utilize change management as project manager deploying a Release of Information System in a large hospital and its network of community clinics.
Sought after as a public speaker for his motivating delivery, and pertinent insights, David tailors each presentation to the needs of his clients, while driving home what is common to every change effort: that resistance is human, but to effectively manage it is the challenge.

Background
David, as an IT consultant and project manager, has been empowering his clients to both manage the organizational resistance and achieve their broader business goals. His extensive management experience ranges from the optimization of scheduling software across specialty sites, to deploying an enterprise-wide EMR, to training clients on how to apply Managed Change. As an Educational consultant and teacher, he has delivered nationwide programs on curricular development and thematic cross-discipline teaching.
David has presented at national conferences, user groups, and corporate events. His most recent articles on Change Management appeared in the Group Practice Journal of the American Medical Group Association.
